There is Another Doctor in the House

Dear Sensei,

Thank you for the invitation (to the dojo's black belt grading July 26th), I hope you and your family have been healthy and happy! I regret that I will not be able to attend as I have another commitment on the date, but I'd like to take this chance to also update you on my life.

I very recently finished my PhD (officially Dr. Franklin Tam now!), and will soon be working at the BC Cancer Research Centre, which is something I've always wanted to do. It has been a long road for me, and all my experiences and everything I have learned from the dojo were instrumental in my journey. Respect, courtesy, and never giving up are all values that helped me get to where I am today, and I will continue holding these values close to heart. I am really happy to see the dojo continuing strong, and I am sure this will be another excellent grading filled with energy and spirit.
